In 2016, my word for the year was a u t h e n t i c i t y.

In 2017, my word for the year was b a l a n c e.

In 2018, my word for the year is l e s s.

This year, I want to spend LESS time complaining about my circumstances and spend more time changing my circumstances. If I'm unhappy with my professional life, my social life, or my health, I need to funnel that energy into doing something about it instead of complaining about it.

This year, I want to have LESS fear and more courage. I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially when it comes to making friends. I used to be so much more outgoing and in the last year, I've become shy and quiet unless I'm really comfortable with the company.

This year, I want to own LESS. Even though I purged my belongings before I moved, there's still more work to be done, especially in my wardrobe. Owning a literal wardrobe restricts the amount of pieces I can store and I don't have any room to spare right now amongst a dozen jackets, half of which I literally haven't worn once in the last year.

This year, I want to spend LESS time on social media and LESS time worrying about social media. Even though I still took some photos and posted during Christmas and New Years, I found that I was generally less "connected" that I had been in the past few months. It was a good break and a good change of pace to be more focused in the moment and less worried about getting the perfect Instagram shot.
