A new chapter begins! As I mentioned on Friday, I've been working on a little project to combine my love of creating digital graphics and my love of decorating our home. I've made a few graphics for our home since we moved in last summer, but I had a lightbulb moment when Luke asked me to create a graphic based on the Thumbs Up for Rock & Roll YouTube video. I decided to turn a hobby into a side project to share with the world.
So today you can check out my online store, Shop Joy42, and purchase from my first capsule collection, I N S P I R E.
You've probably noticed that I've been on a major kick for positivity, love, inspiration, motivation, and care, which I've channelled into this collection of 10 prints. I wanted to create graphics that would INSPIRE others to love themselves and love others well, to follow their dreams, to bring more kindness and positvity into this world.
BELIEVE is the graphic that I made for Luke to hang in our house. I have no idea how I first came across this YouTube video, but while I was working for my dad, I remember hearing him listening to it multiple times a week as motivation and inspiration. I love this video so much because it is true inspiration from the mouth of a child learning to ride his bike and can make us all believe in ourselves. This print is made up of two prints that together make one. I've been wanting a split print or painting in our home for a while now, so I decided to make one! It is recommended that it's printed at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches.
BRIGHTEN is a quote I found while looking for daily quotes to add to my Bullet Journal for March. I love this quote so much because I have seen it happen in my own life as I focus on my everyday kindness project and use it almost as a therapy to step outside of myself when I'm having a bad day in order to take care of someone else. I hope that it serves you as a reminder and as inspiration to light the path of others. It is recommended that it's printed at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches.
CHANGE is another quote I found for my Bullet Journal. One day I spent about an our looking through Barack and Michelle Obama quotes and it brought me such peace and such hope. I've heard this quote before, but I didn't know it was part of then Candidate Obama's speech in February 2008. I believe this quote rings true especially now as so many Americans are frustrated with the political climate. Change is on the horizon and a new day is dawning. So if you are looking for inspiration to be the change, this print is for you. This was the hardest one to design and I actually had three completely different designs. I changed my mind for the third time last minute, hence why this photo might look a little strange to you. ;) It is recommended that it's printed at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches.
DREAM is a simple print, but it incorporates elements that I'm very into right now: simplicity, greenery, and dreaming. In recent months, as I've decorated our home for everyday use and special occasions, and as I've planned our wedding, I've continuously been drawn to greenery, especially eucalyptus. I wanted to incorporate that into at least one of the prints. I love the simplicity of it and its clean look, which pairs well with my current approach to my wardrobe, our home, and my life. If you need a reminder to dream, hang this where you'll see it and be inspired. It is recommended that it's printed at 8x8 inches or smaller.
ENOUGH is a message I believe all of us need to hear, but especially us women. I style the print after prints I made with personal affirmations and messages I created for myself last year. As women, we often hear messages from society, from others, from the media saying we're not enough. We're not pretty enough, skinny enough, smart enough, fun enough, enough, enough, enough. I'm so inspired by the movement to combat that, from not airbrushing models to teaching girls where to find their self worth within or from God, and I want to be a part of that. I need the reminder that I am enough more than on a daily basis and I hope this print will inspire the change in our mindset that we all need. It is available for recommended printing at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches as well as at 8x8 inches or smaller.
GRACE is a quote that has changed my life. I struggle with giving myself grace all the time and am constantly my harshest critic. What I've found through other's being vulnerable and authentic in community and online is that I'm not the only one. Again, I want to inspire change in how we view ourselves and this is a little reminder that can make a massive impact. It is available for recommended printing at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches as well as at 8x8 inches or smaller.
GRATEFUL, in my mind, should be hung where you spend most of your time in the morning, whether that's in your bedroom or your bathroom or by your coffee pot. Luke and I are trying to put more emphasis on gratitude in our everyday life by telling each other at least one thing we're grateful for at the end of the day, but starting the day with a grateful heart opens your eyes to all of the blessings around you. Recognising your own blessings through gratitude may inspire you to share those blessings with others. It is recommended that it's printed at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches.
LOVE is a quote I love. After Stephen Hawking passed away in March, I saw so many of his quote online, but this one stuck out to me so much. When you consider Hawking's understanding of our universe, it makes this observation all the more powerful. Stephen Hawking is inspiration in so many ways, but I learned most of what I know about him from The Theory of Everything and I love how this quote captures the spirit of that film. It is recommended that it's printed at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches.
PERSIST is a quote we've all seen a lot lately, I think. It's been adopted by the feminist movement after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell used the phrase while speaking of Senator Elizabeth Warren's persistence at reading a 1986 letter written by Coretta Scott King while opposing the confirmation of Jeff Sessions as US Attorney General. It continues to be used in the feminist movement as a hashtag, t-shirt, and all around inspiring quote to women's persistence in breaking barriers, despite being silenced or ignored. It is available for recommended printing at 16x24, 8x12, or 4x6 inches as well as at 8x8 inches or smaller.
STRONG is the only Bible verse I've included in this collection and it does not fail to encourage and inspire us in our strength. I once again incorporated my love of greenery, and more specifically eucalyptus. I wanted to include at least one Bible verse as my faith has been incredibly important throughout most of my life. I thought this one would be a good place to start. It is recommended that it's printed at 8x8 inches or smaller.
All prints can be scaled down, but trying to enlarge may distort the image.
