We're five weeks away from our wedding and I just want to highlight what an absolute dream Luke has been over the last 14 months. When I've wanted to cancel it all and elope, when I was on a roll and couldn't stop planning, Luke has supported me through it all. I'm incredibly blessed that my fiancé has been so involved and so helpful and I don't even have the words to express my gratitude. One thing I've learned throughout the whole process is that we make one heck of a team.
Today, I wanted to do a quick Q&A with him about his experience in planning the wedding to find out what it's been like for him, what he's enjoyed, and what he hasn't really enjoyed at all. (I was surprised at the latter!)
What's been your favourite part of wedding planning?
No, what's been your favourite part of the planning process?
Umm...I liked cake tasting because we got to eat cake and I like cake; I think it's tasty! I don't know what else to say, I liked tasting cakes!
What's been your least favourite part of wedding planning?
Flowers. Doing anything with floristry because I don't know anything about flowers so it makes it really hard for me to have any input.
Do you mean making our paper flowers or when we went to the florist?
Not making our flowers; I can make flowers. The florist appointments have been my least favourite. I feel like I have very little input because I don't know much about flowers. I know the least about flowers.
Did you learn anything though?
There are lots of different flowers.
Where do you think we've really excelled in the planning process?
In knowing what venue we wanted before we even saw it. It's true, we did!
If you could go back and do one thing differently, what would it be?
Visa stuff. We should have gotten legally married in the States. It was an extra visa and a faff for me to wait around a long time before we got married.
A faff? What's that?
It's just annoying. We had to go through two visas, which was just kind of silly. Silly little visas. And we could have just gotten married in the States and applied for a permanent visa then. Saved ourselves some pennies.
And I could have kept working in the States.
And you could have kept working. It would have sucked because we would have been apart for longer, though.
What are you most looking forward to on the day of the wedding?
Dancing with my love! I want to dance with you in your wedding dress and me in my suit! (Luke then proceeded to dance, which made me laugh.) What, did you forget how to dance or something?
No, I didn't forget how to dance!
